Especially younger, more inexperienced, talents tend to become impatient while aiming to climb their career ladders fast. While there is no problem with staying motivated and engaged, people often overestimate their own skills. Leading and accepting accountabilities is a whole different story than just stating what can be done better. With bad or no supervision, promotions may result in failure and frustration both for the team and for the talent. Talents get overwhelmed with new challenges they have not prepared for and often also are not ready for yet. It is important to reflect regularly, understand the situation and determine when someone’s finally ready.
Therefore, never lose your passion and focus, stay calm when things may not work out your way in the first place and draw a larger picture. Understand when your time has come, and then you may go all in and fully determined to achieve your goals. There is no time span as to when exactly this point of time will come. But in life, those who work hard, stay honest and keep going, eventually will get recognized and be rewarded.
